Clean knockouts; Police officer surprised with Super Bowl tickets; Super Bowl + college basketball preview
Happy Monday, y’all!
I got a massage yesterday because self care is very important. One thought that popped in my head too often? Deshaun Watson is a sicko.
VIRAL VIDEO OF THE WEEK
Eff bullies, ladies and gentlemen. Now, do I condone violence in any way? Cannot say that I do, but let’s break down the video anyway.
It looks like the guy in the gray pullover — the “bully,” I presume; let’s call him Chad — challenged the guy in the visor — the “quiet guy,” I presume as well; let’s call him Jeremy — to a fight or vice versa. First off, Jeremy, the visor is not a good look. It should only be worn on the golf course or by middle-aged men, not a college student like you champ.
Regardless, Chad has got to come ready to play. Having your hands down at your side? Come on dude, you are not standing in line for communion; get your hands up by your head. Fighting 101. As a result, night night for Chad.
With respect to the other bully (name: Ryan) who got KO’d, Jeremy was assisted by his friend that tripped Ryan, the former Future Farmers of America president in high school, which really threw off poor Ryan’s equilibrium. The push looked innocent, but it appears that his head may have hit the concrete? Night night for him, too.
Chad’s arm candy needs to take a chill pill. Did she check the pulse? He is alive. Not alive and well, but alive nevertheless. So, hold the drama and come to grips with the reality of the situation — your boyfriend/situationship got absolutely rocked by a guy wearing a visor.
🛁 EXTRA BUBBLES 🛁
TMJ4: MPD officer Herbert Davis III, shot in the line of duty, surprised with Super Bowl tickets
S/O TMJ4, especially legendary weatherman John Malan. Dude was probably wrong more times than I was guessing state capitals in grade school, but he tried his best.

This is such a cool story.
In a world that is so polarizing and quick to judge and hate, it is refreshing to see a genuinely cool act of service for someone that was seriously hurt in the line of duty. Turned multiple frowns upside down.
And what a rollercoaster ride in terms of sports fandom for Officer Herbert Davis III, a Cincinnati Bengals fan. He went from having a cheap ass owner that almost exclusively bought off the Dollar Menu in free agency and having Andy Dalton as the team’s quarterback, to that same owner finally opening up his wallet in free agency and having Joe freaking Burrow as the team’s quarterback. On top of that all, Officer Davis is going to the Super Bowl with his dad, with all expenses paid for, to watch their favorite team win a Super Bowl.
Things are on the up and up, Officer Davis, and I sincerely thank you for service to the Milwaukee community.
🏆 SPORTZ 🏆
… will return to its normal programming next week. In the meantime, here are college basketball games to watch this week and a mini Super Bowl preview as well as my prediction.
Week of 02/07 College Basketball
Monday: Kansas at Texas (ESPN, 8pm CST). Kansas pistol whipped Baylor this past Saturday, while Texas did the same to Iowa State on Saturday as well.
Tuesday: Wisconsin at Michigan State (BTN, 6pm CST). Johnny Davis has not shot the ball well over his last seven games (10/51 on two-point jump shots). Read more about his struggles here. Michigan State was run out of the gym on Saturday against Rutgers.
Tuesday: Marquette at UConn (FS1, 5:30pm CST). I hope Marquette, who has won 8 of their last 9 games, loses by 100.
Tuesday: Illinois at Purdue (ESPN, 8pm CST). First place in the Big Ten on the line. The Boilermakers won the first matchup in Champaign, but Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn only played 22 minutes (10 PTS, 5 REB). Will Purdue have an answer for Cockburn, who has averaged 27 points and 10 rebounds in his last two games?
Saturday: Texas at Baylor (ESPN2, 11am CST). Brutal week for Texas. Not only because they have to play Kansas and Baylor in the same week, but also because they have to travel to Waco. That place is a dump.
Super Bowl Preview
Sean McVay versus his former quarterbacks coach, Zac Taylor.
I am pulling for the Bengals. I love the underdog story and love Joe Burrow.
While the Bengals passing game has been playing at a high level during their improbable playoff run (4th in Pass Offense DVOA in the playoffs; DVOA is explained here), the Rams pass defense has been playing at a high level as well (2nd in DVOA in the playoffs). However, if the Rams have a weak link on defense, it is without a doubt the back end of their secondary. Safety Eric Weddle coming out of retirement out of necessity says all you need to know about the situation.
Will Cincy running back Joe Mixon receive a healthy dose of carries? The Rams run defense has been pedestrian, if not worse than that, during the playoffs (9th in DVOA in the playoffs).
On the other side of the ball for the Bengals, their defense has been playing better and better since Wild Card weekend, holding Derrick Henry to less than 70 yards in the divisional round and holding the Chiefs to 3 points in the second half in the conference championship. If they can keep Cooper Kupp in check, the Bengals will walk out of SoFi Stadium as Super Bowl champions. Easier said than done.
Ultimately, the Bengals do not have anyone on their team that can combat Aaron Donald, who I believe will be an absolute menace from the first whistle until the last.
One final note: I watched Man in the Arena on ESPN+ over the weekend. Bill O’Brien, the former Patriots offensive coordinator, said during one of the episodes that the Super Bowl usually comes down to five or six plays. Keep this in mind while you watch.
Prediction: 27-24, Rams. I really hope I am wrong.
If you chuckled, make sure to forward to others and/or share on social. Any corrections, omissions, suggestions, etc., send 'em my way. Much love. -Tubz
